SUGAR FILTRATION

In-house manufacturing for sugar processing plants

Holland Filter develops, designs and manufactures filter systems in Susteren. We work with engineering firms and companies that design, build and modernise sugar processing plants. From the design stage, we advise on filtration, configuration and integration into production.

Do you have a drawing, new project or technical question about an existing system? Together we develop a technically and economically suitable solution.

SUGAR FILTRATION

The sugar industry has a long tradition in separation and filtration. Few industries depend so heavily on filtration or have such extensive practical experience.

In the sugar industry, HOLLAND Filter began supplying automatic liquid filters to clean water for beet washing and condensers (raw juice, preliming).

Later, customers asked whether the filters could also be used in the process stream, namely the sugar juiceitself. In 1986, the first filter was developed for remelt liquor filtration at Suiker Unie in Roosendaal.

This later evolved into complete thick juice filtration systems.

Several parallel filters have fully PLC-controlled automatic backwashing. Rinse liquid returns to an earlier production stage, so no valuable sugar juice is lost.

With short sugar production campaigns, reliable systems and supplier service are essential. HOLLAND Filter has built an excellent international reputation in the sugar industry. Naturally, HOLLAND Filter maintains this reputation in other industries too.

Sugar juice filtration benefits

Sugar juice filtration benefits

Holland Filterfilters are used in various sugar industry applications for the following reasons:

General system benefits include:

  • Guaranteed juice quality with stainless steel filter mesh (3 layers)
  • Improved sugar quality by removing insoluble substances
  • Lower production and energy costs
  • No downtime-related production losses due to fully automatic operation, and no valuable thick juice loss thanks to backwashing with thin juice
