Paper belt filters

Belt filters for continuous filtration of process water and machining fluids. Together we develop the appropriate design for your system.

Paper belt filters

Paper belt filters remove often large quantities of dirt from process water or wastewater.

Examples include

machine shops, where drilling, milling and planing oils are initially filtered for reuse

horticulture and greenhouses, with wastewater or cleaning water containing large quantities of light and heavy dirt such as potting soil or sand.

How the paper belt filter works

How the paper belt filter works

With single-use filter paper

A paper roll feeds filter paper over the filtration surface; used paper is collected or rolled into the waste bin.

The advantage is that all liquid is filtered and only filter waste and used paper are discarded, with no residual liquid volume.

With filter cloth for continuous use

A rotating cloth spans the surface. Liquid flows through it and dirt remains on it. As it rotates, nozzles beneath the surface clean the cloth and wash dirt into the waste tank with cleaning liquid.

The advantage is that the cloth has a longer service life and is used continuously.
The disadvantage is a continuous waste stream containing dirt and cleaning liquid.

Paper belt filter benefits
1. Easy to install as a stand-alone filter
2. Different media options: filter paper and cloth, including polyester and viscose paper
3. Low maintenance; occasional paper roll replacement only

4. Filtration rating easily adjusted by selecting paper quality

5. Continuous filtration without interruption
6. Gravity filtration requires no pump pressure
7. Fully automatic cloth transport at a preset liquid level

Automatic filtration

Automatic filtration

As the cloth clogs, the liquid level above it rises.

The level is measured; a high level signals the drive to advance the cloth.

The fresh cloth rapidly lowers the liquid level

and the cycle starts again. The paper belt filter provides fully automatic continuous filtration.

Applications

Applications

Horticulture, greenhouses and nurseries

Ebb-and-flow water filtration

Water recycling system

Water is distributed throughout the greenhouses and supplied to plants in an ebb-and-flow system. Excess water enters the drainage system and must be reused, rather than discharged into the sewer.

This water is filtered again to remove larger particles and keep the sprinkler system clear.
